This year I used a variety of resources to better help and assist my students. These resources consist of Canva, Google to create; slides, flyers, games, names etc, TPT to further assist brain blocks, Tinker Cad, Ipad, FlipGrid, Goodnotes, and Notability to bring interaction and fun into the class!

Google:

Google slides has allowed me to continue the learning path. I don’t know what I would do without Google slides. Google is an inclusive resource that fits the learning curve for all learners. With Google I have created flyers, review games, worksheets, etc

Flip:

Flip has been one of my student’s favorite resources! Fliphas allowed me to assess students, give students privacy when speaking the language they aren’t comfortable speaking in front of the class, and has given the students an outlet to let their imagination roam when creating videos to take charge of their own education.

Goodnotes:

Goodnotes was introduced to me by my induction coach and has changed my teaching practices within the classroom. Goodnotes has allowed me as a teacher to interact with the class during a lesson.l Goodnotes has allowed me to involve the students in their own learning as well. The students are eager to give me their full attention as they want to partake in the interaction with goodnotes on the ipad.

Final Thoughts on Resources
All these resources are a fraction of what has made my students’ third grade year expandable and my first year teaching experience memorable. Please Contact me if you have any questions!
Student Success Story
When I think of a success story I truly envision my entire class. The growth each and everyone of my students has shown makes me emotional because they have become better students and individuals. Below you will dive into a specific student who has become my greatest success story of all!

Student Background:
It’s safe to say that all my students have their unique success story. However, the most expandable and mind blowing student success story this year is about one of my little girls who did not know how to read or write when I welcomed her into my class on the first day of school. This little girl was shy and timid. She was afraid to ask when she didn’t understand something. She would be okay with not knowing something and moving on to the next thing. I was overwhelmed with what I was about to embark on. Nonetheless, I was ready to prepare this little girl for her future and I was determined to make her a successful individual not just in my class but outside as well.

Student Progression:
On our way to this success story it became very challenging for myself and this student. My little girl became frustrated countless times in class and at home during homework time. However, through these trials and tribulation my student began to grow. The communication between mom and myself became stronger and effort began to take a turn. The want was peeking through and the want resulted in doing and achieving. The time came where this student had to write on her own and she was able to write a sentence on her own without my help. So, I pushed further. This student was able to write her own opinion writing. This student was becoming a success story. She had become my biggest success!

Student Today:
Today my little girl raises her hand to read directions in math, science, social studies, language arts, etc. My little girl’s mom has emailed me many times acknowledging the growth she has made as an individual and student. The growth I have seen grow within her is a result of my classroom management, resources, and platforms like the ones above that have ignited this growth. I am proud that the shy and timid girl I met at the beginning of the year has blossomed into a confident girl who isn’t afraid to advocate for her self and her learning anymore. This strong little girl was able to write her opinion on what animal made a better pet.

Successful work
Here you see my students’ completed “lecturita”. This reading was work that my student was not able to complete at the beginning of the school year. However in this picture you can see that she can now successfully complete it.

Successful work cont..
Here is a progression of work. I gave this assignment to my student to see how she would handle the task of writing to answer the question. I was very proud because although it was not 100% she got two correct and she referred back to the reading.

Here is more of my students’ work towards the end of the year via google slides. The completion from the beginning to now is comparable and the sentence building is so amazing!
Statement From Educational Leader
The biggest atrocity of all is to indoctrinate our children into a system that does not value their creative expression, nor encourage their unique abilities.
