A professional goal I have for myself that goes beyond induction is staying current with trends: The field of educational technology is rapidly evolving with new tools, platforms, and trends emerging constantly. By staying on beat with these developments and continuously updating my skills, I can ensure that my teaching will remains relevant and aligned with best practices in the field. By mastering educational technology provide high-quality, innovative, and student-centered instruction. that will not only with current but fun. This goal will equipt me with the skills and knowledge necessary to harness the power of technology to create transformative learning experiences and prepare students for success in the digital age.
What actions will you take? How will you measure goal attainment?
Some actions I can take are Experimenting and Innovating by being open to new educational technologies and digital tools like trying out different apps, softwares, and platforms. Also, staying informed of the latest research by attending professional developments. Along with collaborating with colleagues to exchange ideas, share resources, and collaborate on technology-enhanced lesson plans or projects, and continuing to reflect. Lastly, reflecting on what works well and incorporating successful strategies into regular teaching practice.Qualitative Assessment: Reflective journals, self-assessments, and peer observations can provide qualitative insights into the extent to which educational technology integration strategies are being implemented effectively and impacting student learning outcomes. Some forms of measuring these actions can consist of analyzing student engagement by comparing pre and post changes. Finally, receiving feedback through surveys.
What actions can you take to remain a connected educator throughout your career?
Some actions I can take to remain connected as an educator throughout my career are participating PLC’s, attend Conferences and workshops, collaborate with colleagues, seek mentorship and coaching, and always continue Learning by having a growth mindset.
What can you do personally and professionally, to sustain the energy it takes to be passionate about students, teaching, and learning?
Some things I can do personally and professionally is to always prioritize self-care practices by setting boundaries. Another thing I can do is never stop reflective practice as this reflection is what allows us to learn and grow personally and professionally. I would also enjoy learning how to stop and celebrate more achievements no matter how small they may appear. I think it’s also always important to seek inspiration as it can become easy to get accustomed to a routine and the “easier” way of doing things. Lastly, always staying connected with students as they are the reason why I have become an educator.
What advice do you have for new teachers entering the profession?
Based on what I have learned from my two years of teaching I recommend new teachers entering the profession build strong relationships, never stop seeking mentorship, embrace the beauty and struggle of continuous learning, be flexible and adaptable, prioritize self care, celebrate successes, stay organized, and always remember your WHY.
